Practice Areas
Having grown up around government, Barrett originally attended law school intending to become a prosecutor. After completing two prosecution internships during law school in Kings County, New York and Polk County, Iowa, he confirmed that intention. After graduation, Barrett worked for 12 years as a part-time prosecutor in the misdemeanor, juvenile, and magistrate dockets, taking a wide array of cases to trial eore judges and juries. He also maintained a part-time general civil litigation practice that included family law, trust and estate challenges, border disputes, mediation and more. He now enjoys utilizing those skills and experience assisting members through LegalShield.
Outside of work, Barrett enjoys traveling with his wife and two children, international cuisine, following multiple sports, and classic cinema.
